MUSIC TO FOCUS THE FIRE
New York-based Benevolent Sol is a genre-blending band creating what they call FUNGE: a powerful fusion of funk, PUNK, soul, rock, and the kind of spiritual groove that feels ancestral and futuristic at once. Founded in Seattle by Richmond, California native Tonio Torres, the project is built on the belief that music should move both body and mind.
More than a band, Benevolent Sol is a movement dedicated to creating immersive experiences that leave listeners with something they did not walk in with. Every performance is intentionally distinct, rooted in fun, driven by passion, and designed to inspire people to think, feel, and move together. Their sound combines infectious grooves, soulful melodies, and explosive rock energy with a message centered on connection and community.
The group has built a reputation for compelling live performances, including a featured appearance at Seattle’s Sound Off! 2026 in the Museum of Pop Culture’s iconic SkyChurch, where they showcased their original song “Can’t Feed Em All.” Their growing audience is drawn not only to the band’s dynamic musicianship, but also to their vision of music as a catalyst for community and change.
With a distinctive identity, an expanding catalog of original music, and a mission to create meaningful shared experiences, Benevolent Sol continues to build momentum beyond the Pacific Northwest.
